I'd actually be interested to get some opinions from the others on this thread as we're all clearly pretty long term focused and conservative holding shares in these companies. I've recently purchased my first home and sold down around 50 percent of my share portfolio to put the deposit together along with some cash savings I had built up. I had to decide which companies to sell out of and strongly considered URB for a while put couldn't bring myself to sell at a loss when they were at such a big discount to NTA so I hung onto them along with SOL and BKW which I always intended to keep as my rock solid companies that I'd be wanting to have in the portfolio forever. A question I'm now struggling with is whether to go back to building up my holdings of conservative income producing companies and simply pay the minimum each week off the mortgage (which is fortunately pretty comfortable due to the extremely low interest rates) or pay as much as I can off the house (through making payments on top every week) and just maintain my existing share portfolio for the time being. I should I'm totally aware that what I'm asking for would simply be opinions and am not silly enough to act without thinking things through.
