My guess would be that the super money that is running away from the banks, had to find new home in the market, and picked the Big Fella.
At the risk of stating the obvious, super funds offer their members options of investment and if 80% of members are in the growth option or OZ shares option, then if their managers sell ANZ because of bad prospects, they really have no choice but to look for some other shares.
Fortunatelly for us - BHP fan club - ,today they have chosen BHP.
Who knows, tomorrow their colleagues who may have thought of hanging on the cash for a bit, may decide that since BHP had a good rise, they might buy some too.
As usual, if London and Dow do not bruise our precious too much, we could have a small run tomorrow.
And in a few weeks time, close examination of charts will confirm, that indeed, today was the day....
