aborinines granted sea rights, page-23

I can relate to the comments about aborigines (although I would say it is a minority of loudmouths) and greed. A couple of years ago I had a client who had been granted mining exploration licences and was planning to set up a foundation to assist aborigines to own 50%. When it came to negotiating with the native title owners the only thing they were interested in was a $25m up front payment.

I think that a lot of the problem lies with the mostly self-appointed aboriginal "leaders" (many of whom are more European than aboriginal) who the media always run to when looking for a soundbite and the industry that has built up around aboriginal disadvantage. Let's not forget that aboriginal disadvantage is keeping many whites employed, as well as being a useful vote winner for parties on the left of the political spectrum. If the problem of aboriginal disadvantage is ever solved all these white bloodsuckers will have to find jobs elsewhere (not wanting to tar all people involved with aboriginals as bloodsuckers).
