My understanding is that John the Baptist was the return of Elijah. If it wasn't John, then who was it? I don't understand your point. Could you pleas elaborate.
If there is no identified return of Elijah, then Jesus was not the Messiah. Please explain what you mean by the return if Elijah, and what leads you to this conclusion.
This clearly did not happen as the Jews expected and so gives us insight into the nature of terms such as "ascension", "return", "resurrection", "heaven", "hell", "spirit", "body", none of which have been clearly understood if Elijah's return is anything to go by..... Please explain how this gives us an insight into terms such as ascension", "return", "resurrection", "heaven", "hell", "spirit", and "body". What insight do we now possess for these terms?
