Adding to what Mr Lapdog's notes on Safety in the market:

I attended SITM in May end here in Perth and for a starter it was an eye opener. The course is run by professionals - there was one young lawyer turned trader and a very experienced and successful trader who had a very miserable childhood life.

That gives credibility compared to other courses that I have done before.

The course is expensive (4500 $)and the initial ABC starter pack charting software is very basic. But the teo books by David Bowden they give are excellent.

I immediately became a platinum member - a fast tracking course spending nearly 17,000 $ extra . Part of this includes Profit source - a superb charting software, Gann mastery book and I would be able to attend 3 other intensive courses in a year's time.

However, it is important to remember that it is an education like you study in a university. Hence, you only get that much based on the hard work you put, the passion you have and also based on your creativity and basic IQ. You can definitely sharpen your trading skills and you get to know of especially the time factor rather than the price action/reaction alone.

I believe that a good education is fundamental to acquiring good knowledge that would lead to confidence in trading.

However, they dont give any trading tips as they are not financial advisors - they boast that they make lots of money but are not very much willing to disclose their secrets - again because they do not have license.

Hence I also joined a technical analyst advisor in July and his advise is doing miracles in my trading success so far.

So the essence is you do both and try to come up
