Phuket, Charts are great to look at, but when i take a longer term view on a specific stock i buy with the intention to hold! not sell tomorrow or next week unless we really experience a shock announcement where the intrinsic valuations completely change.
I'm buying a piece of the business not a 1cent or 2cent gain in the share price and then sell.
You are more focused on short term noise.
Price is what you pay and value is what you get.
Try and workout what the company is worth and then buy the shares at a 20-50% discount on that.
The market usually follows afterwards.
Charts are gr8 for day traders but even some charting techniques aren't always accurate. i.e. Bollinger bands, Moving averages,Macd, Support and Resistance levels , higher highs , Lower Lows e.t.c..
Intrinsic value is probably the most important factor for myself and other long term investors.
