Now you are using semantics to reinforce your negative recommendations:

“GSK remains committed to working collaboratively with external organizations and biotech companies such as Biota,” NOTE particularly that he did not specifically states “working collaboratively with Biota” For sleek executives, it probably meant “working collaboratively with biotech companies OTHER THAN Biota”!!.

So let me offer the alternative based on semantics. He did not neglect to mention Biota. In actual fact he specifically mentioned BIOTA. He could have said that if they had no intention of having future relations with Biota: "GSK remains committed to working collaboratively with external organizations and biotech companies".

I think all he was enhancing is that they have many relationships, with many different biotech companies, and although they have settled AND SETTLMENT COULD BE CONSTRUED AS AN ADMISSION OF GUILT ON GSK PART they value their relationships past, present and future with all biotech companies. Do you think he would want to hinder proposed future reltionships with other biotechs?

We must come to the realisation that big pharma does dominate the manufacturing and distribution within Biota's target market. And predominantly GSK and Roche. BTA will have to work with either of these companies in the future. Do you think Roche is going to drop Tamiflu to run with Lani? And face the same arguements BTA put against GSK! If Lani becomes a superior drug to Tamiflu and Relenza then Roche will find itself in a compromised situation if it was to sign a distribution agreement with BTA. Hence, the next big power is GSK. It is likely BTA will end up doing business on new products with GSK. The industry is a product by product relationship basis between developer and distributor. The power and limited number of distributors determine the market operates this way. It is simply business. Like it or not, to progress they must move on. Reminds me of the mafia - where moneys involved its only business and emotions must be put aside and they move on..

    cheers
