If not, what is the purpose of asserting that John was in the "spirit of Elijah"?
Kam me man haha --> I have explained this on several occasions -> lets say I took on all Kam said, his ways etc and passed them around, I could say I come unto you in the spirit of Kam, hence the context of coming in the spirit of Elijah.
Your words, which say a lot about you if one is honest, are the expression from your spirit.
If I put aside the Godly subject, I see The Kam.
(So don't forget, when where discussing the areas we do, these is the Kam and Kam lol and I hope you get my meaning here).
Bible says the likes of, no one knows the thoughts of mans spirit accept that man Spirit, even so the things of God, no man knows.
However, some of the hidden things of God, he reveals to whomever he chooses.
Hence we have several passages, subject and study of it's own, on the how too's, to try and get this, or some of.
Whatever you do, do not doubt this, or don't come seeking it.
The Bible says, God will dwell in you and walk in you - His words as he is, are also Spirit.
I'm telling you mate, every Bible passage is centered around Word, words, good verses the bad.
Every message, parable, metaphorical or whatever, that's the message your looking for, entwined in there, good verses the evil, Light, Dark.

One point I forgot to cover in your other post, you mention how others have claimed to be the temple etc, and look what they caused etc.
Seriously, do you not think I have spent a lot of time assessing those matters and looked to the Bible for those answers?
In fact, part of that assessment made me stand up and take notice as in, Houston, WE have a Serious problem.
With the Advocate, Comforter, if people are on track, NO way should we have what we do in the world = NO WAY.
So what does one do when they go to war, LOOK, search and seek the oppositions battle plan, spent hours and hours in this area alone.
And you know the killer, or the sad part, No one is interested and you are deemed the cult etc.
Not that where supposed to get into said other Gospels, but have a peek and the Thomas one, around the first 7 verses, Jesus telling you what it will feel like when you find the truth.
Now I had never seen this until I had finished, but boy was I disturbed, unsettled, but not quite able to explain why, but it would appear, it's part of it.
So sometimes, blindness can be bliss lol.
