"Well Tesla started high end but they're now moving towards lower price points. "
Trouble is, what Tesla desperately needs - if it is going to be able to extricate itself from the deepening financial hole in which it finds itself - is to increase prices for their cars, not reduce them, because their gross margins are being crunched, their cost of capital is becoming dearer and the CDS on their debt is rising.
"But yeah the electric options at lower price points are pretty average, that's because they come from legacy ICE manufacturers. But 3 years from now I'd say unless the legacy makers lift their electric game on that front they're toast, the number of new ICE models will get shredded whatever happens."
Not sure if you've looked at Tesla's financial position and the way it is trending.
Unless something drastic happens, it is in fact Tesla itself that could be toast.
