Ever since the DT thread has been around we've had these peeps turn up who think they have a great idea.
– "Hey, I'll buy this stock and then go on the DT thread and tell everyone to buy it, then I'll sell and make a couple pips. Genius!" Of course they are on the stock threads too but all those stocks are in downtrend. haha
When I was a pro-punter, guys would go around tipping different runners to as many peeps as possible and then after the race go around and try to claim the had given a winning tip.
The problem for all these peeps is that they are so obvious that only the most hopeless types would ever fall for it. And those types are not a reliable source of income. So the plan is doomed to failure.
We have a few new tippers atm but previous ones have disappeared cos this isn't a winning strategy. It might work with newsletters etc but at the coal face people are a bit more savvy.
Punting will always attract urgers and desperates. It's just a cross we have to bear.
I would not worry that these guys are gonna do well out of this duplicity. They will just fade away.
Back to markets. Slow day. There was a big write up about the online betting industry and hopes of cracking the US market in Sat papers. Not sure if BET is connected to that stuff.
