You want the "real deal" well here it is. Now I'm playing my cards out open on the table............
Train 4 suffered a "TURD" a few weeks ago (Total Uncontrolled Rapid Decompression) when a 200mm dia. schedule 80 pipe let go. It flung around like a garden hose. If you had seen the pipe and the way it was contorted then you would understand the immense pressure that these autoclaves operate under. This is exotic stainless steel pipe that is as hard as the hobs of hell.
The drama with a turd is that autoclaves should be brought up to temperature and pressure and let down from temperature and pressure slowly and steadily.
Metals expand when they heat up and it isn't good to subject an autoclave to rapid changes of temp or pressure in either direction.
A high temp sulphuric acid / ore slurry is pumped into the autoclave at high pressure where it is then agitated to leach out the nickel and cobalt. When the pipe let go, it demolished all the electrical infrastructure to train 3 and 4. It was sheer bloody blind luck that people weren't killed. This is the reason that the trains aren't running, believe me they would be running them flat out if they could. Murrin are now also on the Dept of Mines shit list in a very big way.
This is but a snapshot of what is going on out at MMO at the moment.
Mass layoffs, expansion plans cancelled, cost over-runs and production targets missed.
If this is "business as usual" and the management think that the share price decline is a joke, then I don't see the funny side of it at all...........
