Apparently they could lose 70% of their pig herd. That is collosal numbers.
Surrounding countries are also being infected.
Whether it eventually gets to Australia or not, I believe this epidemic is going to severely affect the Chinese and wider Asian pig meat market and cause a massive escalation in other meat prices including our domestic prices.
This will take years for those affected countries to recover from. I think there are big trading opportunities in this. Also will cause domestic unrest in China.
This is a big deal imo.
