why paul keating is dead wrong

Paul Keating on the ABC now demanding that more of workers' incomes should be compulsorily diverted into super.

He starts this logic from the view that investing 9% over a working life isn't enough to live.

Well maybe true, but who wants all of their eggs in one basket ? Most middle income people would want to have some investments outside of super. For example, a property investment, which is very difficult for most people to arrange to have in super.
Whats wrong with planning to live partly off super when you are retired and partly off the income from other investments.

Well a lot, according to Paul Keating.

He would rather have a corporatist/fascist scheme where every spare dollar would be sucked into the superannuation system to be managed, or mismanaged by bloated swiss clowns creaming off 2% a year. No scope for timing variations depending on the type of career. No scope for other investments because the super system will be sucking off 15%+ of your gross income. Lots more money for the corporate super industry and less scope for investments of personal interest.

No thanks, Paul. You are dead wrong !
