A couple of years ago coal seam methane was a curiosity in the investment world.
Right now compressed natural gas as a transport fuel is no more than a curiosity. CSM is pure methane compared to traditional natural gas which maybe as little as 70 percent methane and thus a superior candidate as a transport fuel with no refining needed. Supply infrastructure partly in place as all consumers need is a small compressor on their residential gas line to fill up from home with the missing link being filling station access. Most overseas car manufacturers have methane fuel options in their existing range of vehicles. Replacing liquids for transport with CSM has many benefits:
cheaper
much less polluting
significantly lower carbon footprint
safer in accidents
replaces massive oil imports
Within 2 years the realisation will dawn and there will be a scramble to tie up uncommitted CSM for transport fuel.
The complex we see eventually the obvious takes longer.
