General Discussion of AGY, page-1944

Mate, it was an unbelievable trip (3 weeks through the Atacama, and north-west Argentina and then down to Mendoza and back to Chile in 4x4s). I have a decent holding of AGY - had to go see it first-hand! The size of the ponds is incredible, and the intense pale blue of the ponds is such a contrast with everything else. This is one of the driest parts of the planet - seriously, any rain there would evaporate very quickly. The massive size of the bunds/pond ends just illustrates the area of brine being concentrated - but they looked very well constructed and contoured. I will check with my friends for any additional photos that may contain more details (esp the guy with the telephoto lens!)
