I don't think anyone deserves a nuclear bombing.....

Chilling thing about what the yanks was that they deliberatly did not have ordinary bombing raids on hiroshima, kyoto and several other targets, so that they could see the full effect of the nuclear bomb.

Thankfully this preserves a lot of the temples and shrines in Kyoto.

With the end of WW2 hastening to an end, and Russia sizing up Japan... US were threatened by idea of Russia controlling Japan so they quickly picked the target of Hiroshima and the rest is history.

Did it have the result that was desired... of course.

Should it ever be resorted to again. No way.
