I hope its assessed on a practical basis rather than conservation basis. What is its purpose? There are many other plants that can be used to stop soil erosion. Does it do anything else for the environment or native animals if any? If not then a greater benefit would be the mine. Long term environmental impacts of ICE vehicles will have a significant impact on the environment far greater than the loss of one plant species.

I wouldnt be too concerned though, a oil refinery was granted full steam ahead by Trump the first in a long time in Nevada under Trump. That would have far more environmental impacts than this project.
