Sparkler I don't follow your logic re: buying the election for 1.1 billion... You imply that the US holds the key to the election outcome? As I understand it the US does not have great influence in angola. During the civil war the US supported UNITA (the opposition) whilst russia/china backed the ruling MPLA. Current govt has already given the finger to the US by proxy, resisting IMF/world bank interference in favour of chinese infrastructure investment. I can't see how the US could significantly affect this election or why Angola would need to kiss up to them?
