The USA has a long long history of having countries INVITE it to do things as well as other countries OFFERING to do things for the USA

only a 3 year old or a person already dead would realise that these invitations etc. don’t necessarily involve political pressure

Australia has a strong track record of getting into bed with the USA for the wrong reasons at the wrong time ending in atrocities and costly disasters

mostly with dumb Liberals or ex Liberals or Catholics behind it
