wxyz, The world is already in "global economic slowdown", Germany & UK in recession along with a few other European economies. Hence the US dollar strengthening.
China is only in for a Economic reform, not a stand still in growth ie building Tier2 & 3, cities that will see 4.5 million people moving out of rural areas/poverty. Not to mention it's 200 + power stations fueled by coal! Don't forget India, Russia and Brazil who are moving along in leaps and bounds despite world economic slow down.
As far as China not being able to sustain the same levels of growth is a myth as they can not just "throw in the towel" and sit on their hands for the next two years whilst the infustructure turns into swamp lands! No offence wxyz, i know you are trying to help but not too sure about your info?

As posted earlier in this Blog, the commodities correction is temporary and will not last. IMO once the sentiment drivers of this current bear market become more bullish we will then see the market functioning as it should - on a solid fundamental basis ie BHP, one of few who fits this category atm.

Once the Olympics are over and the US start leaning towards getting back on their feet ( which will be sooner than later ) then we will see companies like BHP show the market what they are really made of. Oh.. and i highly doubt that the sp will head south after the earnings realise on the 18th. Why on earth would it??
Maybe you should load up on financials on that day after they spit out there rot.
