Yes there appears to be some modest buying or re-accumulation in that sideways range.
Apart from a single high volume bar (which looks like more serious buying), it appears to be tentative or speculative support.
If so, just remember that at this stage speculative buyers will not yet be 'committed' to their positions (that real commitment only really happens after the 'mark up' phase get underway, and they begin to defend the stock against supply). So at this stage speculative buyers would just as happily dump their positions if sentiment changes (for whatever reason - eg- the reason could be related to the individual stock itself, the sector or parent (nationally), or internationally).
I'll check the shorts chart a bit later, and see if that throws any more light on the question.
