All sides mix lies with truth when it comes to the Syrian wars and the Turkish Civil War. I don't control that. We've tracked these conflicts for about a decade now and nothing should surprise us.
The reality for the moment is that Armenians are fleeing for their lives before a Turkish/Islamist onslaught. Whether or not they can return home at some point depends entirely on:
- whether or not Putin cedes Syrian territory to Turkey (at the Sochi meeting); and - whether or not Erdogan is inclined to ensure protection of Christians in the areas his forces have thus far captured. What Church representatives publicly say will be important in this respect.
