Chalea, thanks for trying to clear that up, with right or wrong math, it doesn't matter. However we both know that the sp won't perform the minus what ever you get to. You are still treating the whole thing like a schoolbook case. It isn't quite that simple though. I fully accept the normal math and how these things are worked out, just when you get to extremes, like in this case, they don't work out in the normal way.
Another example for this is BMN. Double Top etc and the target following the schoolbook rules would be minus whatever. What I’m trying to explain with that is just because the target isn’t possible following the schoolbook rules it doesn’t mean it’s not a double top. BTW, the target there on BMN in my books is about 44 – 39.5c.
Haspete, thanks for taking time out and clearing things up somewhat and pointing out how you look at those tops (candle v line chart). Also I didn’t know about Cup & Handles not forming in a down trend. I thought I did spot some at the very bottom, but to discuss that now would be taking things from the hundreds into the thousands, but I will check on that, also by following those links. Thanks for pointing it out though!
I am aware of the possible double bottom, which I mentioned elsewhere, secondly it still needs to confirm and thirdly once again it wouldn’t be schoolbook stuff as the advance in the middle is uncommonly high, because 10 – 20% is considered normal.
Haspete, I’m not trying to put you on the spot here, but from what you are saying, I guess, you would expect sp to go up from here, right? For reasons outlined earlier, I personally would expect further downside, which in real terms should mean testing that long term support again plus further downside from there if it fails. So in any case there will be interesting times ahead fore everyone to watch as it unfolds and I quote from your double bottom link: Volume is more important for the double bottom than the double top. There should be clear evidence that volume and buying pressure are accelerating during the advance off of the second trough. An accelerated ascent, perhaps marked with a gap or two, also indicates a potential change in sentiment.
As for the software I'm using it is PhoenixAI and I'm quite happy with its performance, but it naturally also comes down to the opperator - woops, that would be me.
