We talk about market manipulation and it seems to be disregarded as a figment of the overactive imagination of disgruntled longs. But manipulation manifests itself in many different forms. Take, for example, the following valuation just released by the silver doughnut (on 24/10).
Their take on the valuation of GXY's 3 key assets are:
* Mt Cattlin valued at A$148m
* SDV valued at A$20m
* James Bay valued at A$9m Price target of $0.80 per share
How are they allowed to publish such nonsense??
Yet, we take this analysis as gospel and sell down the stock to these levels. Do they really think a willing buyer is only going to fork-out chump change for these assets??
This fluff is symptomatic of our markets. The big end of town can get away with this form of "influencing the market" right in front of the regulators gaze.
I call that a form of "market manipulation".
