The Washington Post only changed the header because of public backlash. Do you honestly think it is that hard to come up with something as to not confuse the readers? Here, I am no editor, but i will try - "Murderous Islamic State leader dead", "Caliphate leader responsible for tens of thousands of deaths dies at aged 48".

When the same papers continue to make the same types of mistakes, at what point do you realise it is not a mistake?

I'm not saying that they support the animal. I'm just saying that they purposefully didn't want to paint him in the light that he should have been. We can then speculate the reasons why. But, that is not a "mistake".
