How many times have companies made record profits only to see their share price dive immediately? So many I can't remember... The point is it does happen.
Do you honestly believe it requires the news of BHP's profit to be plastered all over the media to wake investors up?
You are already trumpeting that news and the announcement has not even been made.... Multiply that by thousands of investors and you get the picture of what people are making their investment decisions on.
