Virginia, I think it is very dangerous to persistently look at stock market performance as evidence of conspiracies, by "Big Boys" wanting bonuses or anyone else.
It's the stock market...prices rise and fall, and you have to exercise extreme caution --it's your money after all.
Sentiment changes quickly during volatile markets -- look at yesterday.
Look at banks...flavour of the month earlier in the week, dumped yesterday, back in favour at the open this morning....sliding now.
That's my "pearl of wisdom" as you put it. lol :)
