patty its through the a sandy desert I reckon 140M min and as high as 200m , there is no food, fuel, shops, people its basically a self sufficient camp on the road and the road building team would have to be huge maybe 50 workers, so you got feed em, sleep em, rest em and pay em lots and lots and you cant even work in the summer you will cook the folk that are building it, april-sept is the limit of when you can work out there, during summer you cant even get around there in a 4wd.

I know folks are thinking of it as just building a road in the country but its not I have been there , its very very tough country and I wasnt using poetic license when I was call it one of the most isolated places on earth, dont let all the vegetation fool you its pure sand a few inches down

Dont get me wrong RWD is a brilliant long term hold IMO they could double or triple the jorc over time and its probably well worth the effort to build the road but folks need to go in with the eyes open
