isn't there a history of reduced engine life in diesels due to the intro. of low sulphur diesel? sulphur [i'm sure i remember this correctly] was one of the lubricating compounds in diesel and when low sulphur diesel was introduced, engine manufacturers had to effect changes to prolong engine life, much like lead was a lubricant in petrol.
