    regrets on selling some of CSL are common - people rue the 'lost $'. however u can look at it another way - often CSL still constitutes < 20% of a portfolio. this is a very large weighting on a single share. CSL is a the golden share but increased single share dependence increases risk. increased risk can increase return but visa versus. I reckon for this reason you won't see any of the LIC's holding a weighting like this in a single share. if anything ever goes wrong your portfolio is hostage to this risk..... still an argument can be made the other way. l remember Howard Coleman complaining that he sold some of CSL at $100 "just like a gambler" he said. indeed the pressure on Michael Berry (the big short) must have been enormous when he shorted what seems like most of his managed investment, on the us banks. in the film the bet paid off but he closed the fund after the gfc. dunno the answer but something l do think about... if CSL already already constitutes a large % of your portfolio and maybe you reduced well l reckon that's life. the other option is don't sell anything, shut your eyes and things may work out?? dunno the answer....
