Bruceyg, I stayed there once, or rather I booked in, checked in, then left. The pub had steel plate shutters over the windows and the largest Lockwood locks I have ever seen. We had hired an on site van. The fly screens were broken and the door and window locks were broken. The manager offered us the use of cooking utensils but said he didn't leave them in the vans because they got pinched. We went to the local takeaway where there were about 20 "cousins" sitting outside handing around wine casks. Inside there were the kids, noisy with some obviously drunk. This at about 6PM.
We packed up drove through the night to the next town. A road littered with dead and live kangaroos, camels and cattle and with plenty of heavy transports along the way. The only bad experience in a 6 week trip up the West Coast, staying at a different place most nights.
