interesting subject. The UK is currently in the process of putting in a nuclear power plant. France gets approx 80% of its electricity from nuclear. China is still putting in coal fired generators as well as nuclear.
The US has plenty of nuclear plants ,...can’t remember how many but dozens , and many other countries do too. It seems to me that as we transition away from fossil fuels , there will be a reliance on nuclear as well as renewables. Of course we in good old Oz cannot even utter the word nuclear , either for power generation or to arm our new old obsolete subs which won’t be delivered for more than ten or fifteen years. Another point about electric cars is that starting in a few years there will be millions of batteries to dispose of . This number will grow annually , and as nobody wants our waste any more , and as we find recycling costs are just too high, we had better invent a better battery that charges faster , lasts longer, is recyclable , and not overly expensive. I believe that here in Oz , natural gas will be in demand for at least 20 to 30 years ,...it doesn’t need sun or wind and is instantly available.
