You will find that the most important part of the geological setting of Maslins is that they have delineated a fault which can act as a conduit for fluids to form the IOCG. It doesnt really matter whether its graben or horst, its the fault in between that's important. If they find enough copper and gold mineralisation in the system the faults orientation becomes crucial to delineating the entire ore body.

What is most important is finding out exactly what the composition is to what the geophysics allude to. Almost a no brainer they will find iron. Its the amount of copper and gold that we all have to keep fingers and everything else crossed for. Lots of risk involved in this. The closest deep drill hole to Maslins alluded to Copper being in the system if it is the same system. I guess we can hope that that copper mineralogy was just a small leak from the main system at Maslins.

The work the JV is doing now is crucial. ie planning for the drilling. This has its own risks in that they may miss the potential deposit. OZ minerals will put their brightest minds into this planning. Unlike IVR they have the experience and greater resources to have the best chance, Like ezi has posted they have had some fails in deep drilling and they would have learnt from these. I'm sure that this drill campaign will be planned to eliminate risks of missing there targets meaning that the best potential ore may be missed. Still, Its a risky business but if this works out, the returns can be amazing. Good luck holders.
