That's correct the chargers are stand alone one cabinet the DC/AC/DC converters are in another cabinet. Batteries are also in metal cabinets on racks. Generally 2 systems that back each other up so if a charger or inverter fails the second system is running parallel.
That was on Tennant Creek power station as one example. For 3 x 2.4 megawatt gas powered piston engines units. Producing 11 kV then transformed to 22 kV for the local grid.
The brand name of batteries I can't remember sorry. That's just one example using about 96 batteries each battery about 30kg the lads were struggling to lift them into place and a small crown lifter was required.
