I think some may owe DBK at least a belated apology of sorts, even if you dont think OCP is telling the truth. He tried to alert people to knowledge that he thought to be material and was sent packing. That kind of stuff ruins HC. Now even if he and OCP are wrong, shouldn't we at least consider these developments [which i guess we NOW have, maybe because it seems more credible from BBY]. We owe it to ourselves as supposed 'long termers'.
We are obviously fortunate OCP is in Morrocco and not a more stable country. It is perfectly conceivable that a monopoly would act in exactly the manner OCP is suggesting. In a theoretical sense they don't necessarily care about profits in the short term (i.e. the next 10 or more years for example) --> maintaining monopoly status is the key. However this is a long term strategy, and whether or not OCP (and morrocan govt) will have the appetite or even the means to sustain this is one of the central issues.
Could this news have already been disseminated in higher circles and be a cause of some of the larger parcels dropped on the market?
