1. According to the nzherald article, A2 milk was number 8 best selling 'imported brand by Chinese consumers. Not sure how to reconcile this with other stats on this forum. I think its possible all numbers reported are true but are for different categories. Last y'ear A2 milk was number 6 on the 'Cross border' platform. I would imagine that the 'imported brands by chinese consumers' covers a larger segment of the market compared to the 'cross border' platform. 2. According to the NZherald article today, NZ was number 8 on the top imports. Last year this was number 9. This, in my opinion, is a much more reliable measure to compare to last year. With everything else, there is too much confusion with categories. Some are saying A2 is number 2, some are saying number 6 and today's article is saying number 8. All seem to be correct but are for different categories and difficult to measure against last year. The NZherald article mentioned A2 milk only next to NZ (Last year lamb got a mention too). One would imagine most of the increase came through A2 and A2 could be the reason NZ moved up to 8th place. We have to remember that the pie this year got much bigger so even stayiing at 8th place would have meant a 20% increase in value (all else remaining equal).
