In mining/exploration for minerals, there is this phenomenon: people would rush to claim land/properties next to or adjacent to an existing big find. Whether you can find anything around next to the big discovery is another matter, the fact that a piece of land is next to a big mine means money for the owners of the land nearby.
So, is Ghosh playing this game here? Say one day iPPS becomes very big and lots of effort will be made to come up with variations or combinations not covered by existing patent???
