Wet season: generally the wettest month of the year will be either a Jan, Feb or March and maybe April. Depends on monsoon trough and cyclonic activity. We get large isolated storms October to December but the wet season is where it rains relentlessy for weeks varying from drizzle to heavy - I remember one February a year or so ago when there was continual rain without a single minute without some precipitation for a whole 30 days; and I remember another day when we had 26 inches of rain over a 24 hour period. With rain like that every gully runs a banker for weeks and the ground is so wet that little rain is needed to start them running again; and if you are trying to work ground you just have to walk away and wait for things to dry up. Storms in October - December are more transient.

The slump Friday probably a lot to do with Anna Bligh stating that she has no intention of allowing uranium mining. But there was only 1.5 Mil dumped and no buyers only bottom trawlers.

I see the emerging short term strength now for MKY is the huge bauxite tenement that is not yet quantified. Local talk says huge. And also the first MKY website and migration onto the correct list away from the stain of table- - no no we are not allowed to ever mention that again.

Regarding uranium/thorium - well political will follows the votes and if nuclear reactors continue to become more popular because of greenhouse gasses and more enlightening technology then a backflip will happen. Rudd is a bit pro nuclear.

Regarding coal. No local talk yet but there is a lot of coal nearby at Mt. Mulligan. Check MNM thread. Queensland has massive amounts of coal all over the place and untouched exploration areas.

I am happy that MKY is an active mineral explorer in an exciting area that has not yet been fully explored and I hold 3.25M shares at average 4 cents. I am not that uncomfortable with my current paper loss because all my shares are a bit that way at the moment. The weight of money must start to drive the market upwards soon because cash cannot sit doing nothing and the ASX must be more attractive compared to many other exchanges.
