You really have no idea. The majority of Syrians never supported Assad. Nothing to do with external players. Assad is an Alawite which is a minority in Syria. He combined with some other minorities such as Shia and Druze to rule. However the vast majority of Syrians including the Kurds are Sunni. That is why so many supported ISIS and why Sunni majority will never want Assad. Its also why Assad does not want the over 3 million refugees in Turkey to return. They are mostly Sunnis.

But it doesn't help that the US Saudi and Israel created and supported ISIS, in the same way the US supported Al Qaeda, as an on tap proxy army/terrorist group to further foreign policy goals.
