As for Pell - the only judge that dissented with the majority on the court of appeal happened to be one of Australia’s for most experts in criminal law. The other 2 weren’t. The High Court will determine the outcome.
As an aside, I’m sure that you would be squealing like a stuck pig if you’d be convicted of that crime based upon 1 persons evidence from 20 years ago, with multiple credible witnesses supporting your case saying they were there and it didn’t happen. Pell may well be a kiddy fiddler (who knows) but he clearly didn’t commit the crime for what he’s been convicted of it. Based upon the evidence submitted there, I certainly wouldn’t want to be exposed to the Victorian legal system. If you had half a brain you wouldn’t either.
