I think at some point in time they've failed, lost money or acted on ill advice McHale and they've never really gotten over it. Knowing that others may fail as they have, or not wanting others to succeed might have something to do with it also, who knows.
Not hard to wish people good luck with their investment and hope they make a few bucks along the way.... Not hard at all
