Greetings,
I think this ANN shows a corporate focus on continued improvisation and likewise a focus beyond the medium term to a time when we can expect additional products and eventually additional income streams from a range of products, delivered from mining the corporate knowledge, academic connections and expertise base.
I don't want us to get too far ahead of ourselves, but generally (despite the not price sensitive tag) I think this ANN bodes well for the future and indicates that MEM won't be just a one trick pony. Now if only we can get through our program for the next 18 months or so without further stuff ups and get some positive cash flow!
BTW I read Wombat's analysis of the risks of investing in biomed stocks (on RAC thread) last night and I think what he says about reduced risk with later stage trials etc is sort of applicable here.....in other words I think this stock has a much reduced risk to when I originally invested in NSP in the early 2000s and I really regret having been so heavily diluted from a position well up in the top ten at one point, to probably dropping out of the top twenty when it is next published. It is interesting to look at our leader's interest/holding growing from virtually nothing to a very considerable holding over the period since she took the helm. I don't begrudge her that vastly increased stake because she has previously taken on very substantial risk and put everything into keeping the company afloat plus it is always good to see board members with skin in the game. My assessment is that the hardest yards are behind her and that she and all holders will be richly rewarded over the next 5 - 10 years. I guess my outlook is still coloured to some extent by the fact that I am still underwater by a sizeable margin to what I have speculated on this one over the years. My query (and this applies to a lot of companies not just MEM is whether the interests of boards that control such a big slice of the share capital are truly aligned with those of the smaller/minority shareholder? I'd be interested to hear what others think?
