"does not go up by the same amount"?
If I buy shares worth $4k at $0.004 per share, that gives me 1 million shares. If they consolidate 100:1, then I'm left with 10,000 shares worth $0.40 each, giving me the exact same relative holding as before, and my shares will still be worth $4k. A consolidation has no impact on your relative holding. The resulting market cap remains the same.
