Sorry, have no idea how it is going but I suspect the mining journos will cover it shortly as the offer is not far off its closing date (if it does close).
Cant help on the tax losses but like you I did see it in the press somewhere-maybe time to phone up the company.
PS I am already working with my broker on a shorting strategy, if and when it lists!
