    Totally flawed and in several ways.

    Once you start finding excuses to change the data you introduce various forms of bias both conscious and unconscious. Excuses used to validate the changes make no difference to this.

    Serious scientists don't stand for such changes.

    If I am wrong nominate just 1 other branch of science that tolerates such changes.

    I can tell you plenty that get people jailed for fraud when the data is changed.

    The other BIGGGGG flaw that the man on the street can be forgiven for not understanding is the claim of trends that lie wholly within the error margins of the data being taken. This is just total bull shit that only Stats 101 is need to see. To then extrapolate this rubbish forward in time is a more heinous error.
