You say we are not being told the world will end and then you go on about the planet facing an existential crisis.
Listen to Tom Wigley your go to guy on climate...I asked the Australian climate scientist Tom Wigley what he thought of the claim that climate change threatens civilization.“It really does bother me because it’s wrong,” he said. “All these young people have been misinformed. And partly it’s Greta Thunberg’s fault. Notdeliberately. But she’s wrong.”
The IPCC has a number of scenarios and their very worse scenario has global gdp dropping 8% by 2100 because of climate change than it otherwise would have been. In that period global gdp could rise between 500 - 1500%. This is not an existential threat to the planet.
If the scariest thing about climate change is a rise of sea level by 1 metre then I think we can cope. If the Netherlands could cope with that in the 17th century I am sure the countries at most risk can also cope with it. If it even happens. Considering the number of leftie alarmist politicians and others in recent times who have bought houses on the foreshores I cannot see this being much of an issue.
