What platform do you use?
Most show buyers/sellers orders at whatever price... number of shares that 'match' ie will 'cross trade'... the price that is therefore determined... and how many are leftover either buyers or sellers so you get an initial 'feel' for whether there should be an immediate push one way or the other and how strong it will be... handy for doing a quick trade but the bots that now dominate the market make it WAY less useful these days...
