    I continue to stand by and await your proposal for a concrete solution that will result in a cessation of the exponential rise in total global carbon emissions driven from the developing world.

    I am unable to think of a scenario where we can get on top of the alarmist fears of a climate catastrophe in a peaceful and painless manner as;

    Humans tend to think of themselves ahead of others—except for a few saints who usually die in rags!

    Humans are territorial and won’t give an inch to another power so countries are unlikely to forgo defense spending in order to develop a technological solution for CO2 abatement.

    Humans tend to put off dealing with issues beyond the immediate horizon so climate warnings about the turn of this century attracts sceptical and cynical responses.

    Humans tend to overestimate the power of science to deal with problems such as climate change—especially atheists-- who tend to resort to a scientific solution for problems—known as scientism

    Humans tend to avoid acting if there is the possibility others can do it—known as the bystander effect.

    So we are left with some less pleasant solutions;

    Plato in his ‘Republic’says we need a Philosopher ruler who has no interest in obtaining wealth or fame—acting as a servant to the people.

    But nowadays such an aspiring leader would never be elected or if elected would soon be assassinated as the ruler would immediately call out corruption, immorality and human weaknesses that are detrimental to society.

    The rich puppet masters who pull the strings wouldn’t be happy or in the case of JF Kennedy the mob most likely killed him as his brother Robert broke a pre-election promise to the mob about leaving casinos and certain rackets alone.

    A world benevolent dictatorship would be good,but how would the benevolent dictator deal with nations that disagree and also hold nuclear weapons?

    In the end its seems humanity will pay a huge price because of the very same traits that allowed humans to become the most dominant and powerful species on the planet.

    But humans are still subservient to Mother Nature, so we are most likely to put off acting until it’s too late as by then a Climate Tipping Point will have been reached.

    As a result I predict in a couple of centuries the planet will have a human population of no more than 1 billion—thinned down by starvation, conflict, disease and lower reproductive capacity given sperm quality drops as the nuggets get hotter!
