I think this announcement is a nothing announcement like a filler when there is no news. They are no doubt aware of shareholders' anger and discontent and this looks like an attempt to quell some of that.

I'm not knocking it though as this is exactly what they should have been doing all along, supporting the SP with 'news' and keeping the pot boiling.

I wouldn't mind betting that the R&P share might be getting the chop by the new Angolan government in part or in whole with a redistribution to the other two partners. Hence our increased holding, and that of E also.
That would make perfect sense and be a win for both L and E.
