I think we should give management a little latitude and appreciation for trying. When they ramped up Nifty copper was US $3.25 /lb and heading north. They did not have a crystal ball and you cannot stop and restart mines on a whim. A bit like shooting ducks you have to assume where the duck is going to be in the future. I am sure those employed at Nifty have work their arses off and done their best.
If you blame anyone it should be the trade war. The Chinese are on a mission to steal top strategic metal resources and assets around the world. It is sad Moms and Dads have to stand up to this crap with our governments and regulators doing nothing in the face of hostile government manipulation of free markets. It the west does not get its act together to protect assets like Renison we may need to learn mandarin if we are still here. Young Donald appears as crazy as a coconut but I think he is right taking on the Chinese rather than being screwed by stealth.
